Regular Reports on the Work of the Research Group
During the course of a large research project, numerous publications accumulate: journal articles, reports, press releases, and position statements. For us, high-quality public science is not a side task but a professional mandate. Aligned with the research group’s concept—and in line with the objectives of the WiHo funding line—there is a strong emphasis on dissemination and knowledge transfer.
We regularly report on the group’s publications, as well as participation in conferences, symposia, and public discussions. Whenever possible, contributions—either as originally published or after a defined embargo period—are made available in Open Access formats.
Subscribe to our channel and podcast on YouTube and Spotify, and follow us on LinkedIn. Feel free to share our posts and stories, which are carefully prepared with expert input on artificial intelligence in science. The special series KI-KONTEXTE showcases AI developments and applications in research areas related to public services and infrastructure: weather, energy, mobility, health, safety, and education.
KIWIT began its work in June 2025. At this stage, we would like to highlight some of the current working papers by our digitalization and AI expert Prof. Ernst Reinking and colleagues:
Reinking, E. (2025): EU Artificial Intelligence Act – A Systematic Procedure for Classification into Risk Categories. ZBW – Leibniz Information Centre for Economics. Kiel/Hamburg (with M. Becker). (Open Access)
Reinking, E. (2024): Large Language Models and Proprietary Data – More Accurate Query Results Thanks to Efficient Data Management and Improved Technical Processes. ZBW – Leibniz Information Centre for Economics. Kiel/Hamburg (with M. Becker). (Open Access)
Reinking, E. (2024): The Future of Corporate Data: Opportunities and Challenges of AI Applications within the Context of Corporate Governance. ZBW – Leibniz Information Centre for Economics. Kiel/Hamburg (with M. Becker, C. H. Daube, M. Peskes). (Open Access)
Reinking, E. (2023): Opportunities for Business Use of Today’s AI Models: Rapidly Achievable Personalization of Large Language Models (like ChatGPT) in the Era of Industry 5.0. ZBW – Leibniz Information Centre for Economics. Kiel/Hamburg (with M. Becker). (Open Access)

In the scientific context, dissemination refers to the distribution of research findings to various target audiences. This includes not only the immediate academic community but also interdisciplinary dissemination and the transfer of knowledge to non-academic sectors.

No need to overthink it: technological, social-scientific, and philosophical perspectives on the subject of artificial intelligence have now produced a substantial body of literature.
